Histological image analysis to identify populations at riskHistology produces high-resolution images, e.g., 22000 x 70000 pixels, of tissues. These tissues come from biopsies performed with well-defined protocols, which allows histologies from different patients to be compared. However, due to their size, it is hard to extract and analyze all the relevant information in the image. In addition, some variations in the protocol cause changes in the image's contrast, which hinders their comparison. For this reason, image processing tools have the potential to facilitate the analysis of these images and extract patterns that are hard to identify by the naked eye. The first stage of this project seeks to develop analysis methods, including artificial intelligence and statistical learning tools, that allow relevant features to be extracted from a single histology, to determine the regions where structures are similar, and where they are anomalous in their morphology Prerequisites:No prerequisitesAvailable vacancies:3/6This opportunity uses a Nota 1-7 evaluation method and is worth 10 credits ING0700 ING0701 IMT2985 IMT2986 IMT2987 Procesamiento de imágenes de histología para identificar poblaciones de riesgoLa histología produce imágenes de alta resolución, p.ej., 22000 x 70000 pixeles, de tejidos.
